Stationery Stores Abroad // Monaco

Naturally, when I travel I shop for paper. Before I go I will research stationery or gift stores, it’s a broader search term than scrapbook or craft, which tend to not give the right results. Also, art supply stores can be good, and even book stores.

I try to look for locally made items, but if not, I look for items representing that area. Cards, notecards, postcards, notebooks, notepaper, pencils, pens, desk accessories, etc.

There were not many results for Monaco. I did find some vintage looking postcards of art by Jean-Gabriel Domergue in the souvernir shop near the Monte Carlo casino, next to Cafe de Paris.

I read about a store in Monaco-Ville called Les Feuillets & decided to check it out. It was a little hard finding the location through the winding streets of the tiny city, and there was really no sign. It is right next to the Pinocchio restaurant which is easily found by this guy:

Right away I could see the attraction to Les Feuillets, with a collection of greeting cards, gifts, regional ephemera, and signs.

There were many laser cut cards, in-general souvenirs, old copies of magazines, various art prints, lighting & candle gifts, as well as many other gift items.

Vintage Postcards

I was able to find actual vintage postcards of Monaco complete with stamps & postal ink.

They carry a cute selection of notebooks with pretty covers. I fell in love with these thin metal signs with various veggies on them, I only wish I picked up a few extra.

I really enjoyed the fact that the ladies working there wrapped every single item I had up in separate bags, even adding a beautiful pressed flower envelope and pen to my order. It was packaged up neatly and held everything in tact for the rest of my travels.

Definitely do not miss this perfect little shop if you travel to Monaco.

Some of the items were gifted, others added to my walls & collections, and a few may find their way into a giveaway next month – stay tuned!
