I did take some photos with my DSLR around the house today, however these below are all iPhone shots.
I don’t have a good track record with Friday the 13th. Well I guess it’s not usually an issue, just that I’ve gotten a black eye & had to put my dog down on Friday the 13th. So I am always a little cautious. I think maybe this Friday the 13th was one of the better ones I can remember in while. It was just a good day because I was off from work and was able to get a lot of list items checked off.
If you saw my 2015 WITL, you’ll know the significance of this empty table. It used to be the home of my fish, Del. He died a couple weeks ago, he was a 6-year old betta fish. I didn’t post anything about it, honestly, it was sorta hard and I miss him. I know he was just a fish, but I had him for a while! I was attached to caring for him. B humored me and we had a lovely, sunset funeral for him (I could not flush him). There was music & candles & flowers & shots of tequila involved. It helped me move forward from it & thank my little friend for the time he spent with me here in this world.
I started the morning with my yoga practice. I know that if I don’t get to it first thing, it simply doesn’t happen. It was overcast and cloudy (again) so there was a calming, cool light streaming into my living room. I plan on using the words I added to this Instagram post in my WITL album.
I am loving this coconut oil as a moisturizer lately. Makes for soft skin & B always notices saying I smell like a coconut.
In some ways I am organized, everything has a place. But sometimes those places get rather messy. Took 5 minutes to straighten up my bathroom drawer.
Two years later, I finally settled on the accent color scheme for the first floor of my house. Red, navy, aqua, & of course white & gray. The den also has marigold. I just had to have this basket from Joann’s. I put my yoga accessories in it. Functional.
I have a rule where I always carry something up or downstairs. I look around for what needs to be put away: glasses carried down to the sink, shoes carried up to the closet.
I pretty much always take my own coffee to-go in a ceramic travel mug. It’s my second time wearing my girlfriend jeans (by Giuliana Rancic) and I’m really starting to love the relaxed fit.
I had some errands to run. Stopped at Boscovs to use my coupon and gift card. I actually hate physical shopping (online is fine!) and I hate the mall even more. But I do love this Boscovs store and they have a nice selection of petites. I generally never try anything on, but I had time. I’m glad I did because the 2 items I thought would be fine, I ended up not liking, and the 2 I wasn’t sure about were good!
Time for some afternoon coffee on this damp day. I was laughing to myself because a few weeks ago I made a pot of hot water (I forgot to put the coffee in!)
I consider making salad a form of art.
I straightened up my studio this afternoon, did more laundry, and put clothes away. I cooked raviolis for dinner, with shrimp & salad. After dinner I worked on a decor project in my living room I have yet to photograph. Oh and listened to show tunes all the while.
B hung out while I worked on my project, then we turned on the hockey game. I love Friday nights when we are just chilling and gearing up for the busy weekend. Looking forward to the summer weather and being able to hang on the patio more in the evenings.
I will be back on Monday with the weekend shots & plans for the album.
