DIY ornament

If you aren’t done shopping & decorating then you may be on the verge of panicking at this point?! I hope not, but just in case, I thought I would share a super easy & quick DIY ornament.

A few years ago I wanted a regal, black & gold tree, so I made a few different ornaments to get the right color scheme.

I love the possibilities with the clear balls that can be filled.

For these ornaments I planned on using actual music sheet paper, but you could easily print some from graphics on your computer or find pattern paper with music notes on it already. In this case I happened to find a few styles in a scrapbook store, one even had a Christmas theme to it. I sprayed the paper with some gold shine using Heidi Swapp’s color shine spray. Any mist or glitter spray would work fine. After drying, I cut strips of the paper using my trimmer. I used a pencil to twirl the paper around into loose spirals, then mixed them up to put into balls. Add twine or ribbon and you have a nice, fancy looking ornament that is cheap & quick to make!

I also have used small animal figurines and spray painted them gold then adhered them to the inside of the ball, adding some fake snow for filler. I am a big fan of up-cycling decor items by spray painting it gold.

Hope you enjoy your DIY creations!
